Add brussel sprouts, olive oil and brown sugar on a large baking sheet. Stir everything
together to get the Brussels sprouts well-coated (your hands work well for this). Spread the sprouts on the baking sheet in a single layer, cut-side down.
Sprinkle bacon pieces in spaces between the Brussels sprouts directly onto the pan. This helps the bacon get crispier.
Roast for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, use a large spatula to give everything a good mix. Spread back into a single layer and return to the oven. Roast another 5-10 minutes, or until the brussels sprouts are browned and the bacon starts to crisp.
