Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Remember that little rhyme from when you were a kid? Isn’t it funny how we were taught that words can be easily brushed off? Nowadays, we understand the power that words have. The words that we say to our children, the words that we say to others, and especially, the words that we say to ourselves, are incredibly impactful, for better or worse. This month’s free Letterpress Affirmation Printables are a fresh way to have powerfully positive words all around you.
I realize that every day, hour and even minute is a chance for a fresh start, but there is something about the New Year that is so full of promise: 365 new days to do better, to have more fun, to live fuller. This coming year I want to work harder at being kind to myself. Life is tough, there’s no doubt about it! But sometimes I just need a reminder that what I’m doing is the right thing.
Get the kids involved!
It’s never too early to get your kids started with positive affirmations. There are great activities and suggestions out there for parents. Something as simple as little lunchbox notes can help turnaround the rough day your child may be having. I also really like this list of positive affirmations you can say to children, from Meraki Lane. In her post, she also shares some kid-friendly activities you can do together.
I think the vision board idea is a really easy one for all ages. At your New Year’s Eve party, you could set out a bunch of old magazines, scissors & glue, and have everyone (even the adults!) put together a vision board for the new year.

With Repetition Comes Belief
I’ll leave you with this quote from Muhammad Ali: “It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.” We hope that with the help of our Letterpress Affirmation Printables, you can make 2019 the year that things begin to happen for you!
Happy New Year!
