What do you do when your toddler insists on being a balloon for Halloween? You give in, of course. I have just one of those little tikes and mine is so persistent that I could not resist the challenge. Okay, I’ll admit I spent some time trying to get her to choose Minnie Mouse or White Rabbit, but her will out matches mine. I dreamed up homemade hot air balloon costume so she could have her wish. It was super easy and she loved it! It was so cute I had to share. All the little kids loved it and it made the rounds around our Halloween party!
What you need:
- Large burlap sack
- cardboard box
- scissors
- hot glue gun & glue
- string
- adult suspenders
- giant hot air balloon
- white shirt, jeans and loafers
First you cut and the cardboard box to be the size of a hot air balloon basket, and cover the box with with glue and the burlap sack. I tried staples and other means of attachment but tacky glue was the best. We also made two little weight bags for the front.
This is where the easy comes together! Hook on the suspenders and adust to the childs height. The basket should be around their hips. Then attached the giant balloon.
Surfing Pinterest is a hobby of mine, as you know. I found this ADORABLE Yoda toddler costume which is too cute not to share. May the force be with you this Halloween!
