Remove Your Doily Template and you will discover a beautiful Snowflake pattern has been achieved on your PegBoard

Decorate your PegBoard Trivets with Geometric Patterns (using the Holes of the Pegboard  thread Raffia ). Then to add a Shabby Chic look sand over each Peghole individually and continue with your sandpaper distress other sections of your Peg Board. Use a course grade sandpaper to also sand the sides of your PegBoard Trivets

Decorate your Pegboard Trivets using Christmas Paper Picture Cutouts & Split Pins

Using Split Pins is a great enhancement towards Decorating your PegBoard Trivets, if you can not find the colour you are after you can always spray paint them. However with the Dollar Shops , Scrapbooking Shops and Specialty Shops for Cared Making & Wedding Supplies not to mention eBay there are 100’s of Split Pin Designs to choose from.

Using a Decoupage Technique with Mod Podge I then cut out small picture from Christmas paper and adhered them to the PegBoard with Mod Podge also giving them a generous Top Coat of Mod Podge As Well.

Once Dry Using a Hot Glue Gun I Backed all The PegBoard Christmas Trivets with felt to hide the bottoms of the SplitPins and the Knots of the Raffia. Although the door stops had their own sticky portion on them I felt more comfortable using the Hot Glue gun to secure the door stops as the legs.  I gave this set of PegBoard Christmas Trivets 2 Sprays with Polyurethane and they are now ready to gift for Christmas.

SET 2 PEGBOARD CHRISTMAS TRIVETS- Lets get the children involved in your Christmas Crafts. A simply fun craft that can be completed in a couple of hours. These PegBoard Trivets serve a purpose and when they are in use at Christmas time your kids will feel a sense of worth knowing they were involved in the creating.

SET TWO- MATERIALS YOU NEED FOR PEGBOARD CHRISTMAS TRIVETS

  • PegBoard cut to your preferred size and shape
  • Pen Paints (I purchased a set of 24 colours for $22 from eBay) or sharpies
  • Sticker Lettering (scrapbooking letters worked well)
  • Spray Paint( I use spray paints that have primer in it and adhere to every surface) Colours used  White.
  • Clear Back Christmas Stickers or Water Slide Decals
  • Mod Podge & Wood Glue
  • Sealer be it Polyurethane Spray or Bees Wax
  • Sand Paper Medium Grade
  • Door Stoppers or Door Knobs for the PegBoard Trivet legs

Paint Pens are a Fantastic way for Children to Decorate Peg Board. Using the holes provided allows them to make many pretty patterns around the individual holes or geometric patterns around a group of holes. Making Pegboard Trivets is a Fun and creative Project for kids to be involved in

I firstly spray painted the Peg Board White, although it originally comes in white I wanted a cleaner look to start.

Once Dry I sat back relaxed and spent time with my 16 year old daughter as we both made patterns of green & red around the individual holes of the Pegboard using the Paint Pens (Sharpies would work just as well)

We then added the stickers and lettering using a Decoupage Technique we gave them all a generous top coat of Mod Podge.

Once Dry we used different grades of Sandpaper to give the Peg Board Christmas Trivets an aged Shabby Chic look (we also sanded over the stickers and cleaned up the sides of the Peg Board. I then sprayed 2 coats of Polyurethane spray over the top to seal the Peg Board Trivets.

By using one large Door Stop Centered in the Middle. These Peg Board Christmas Trivets can now serve 2 purposes. They can be used as Trivets or due to their added height they can serve as Cake/Platter Stands

By using one large Door Stop Centered in the Middle. These Peg Board Christmas Trivets can now serve 2 purposes. They can be used as Trivets or due to their added height they can serve as Cake/Platter Stands. I left the underside of the Peg Board Trivets their Natural Colour and gave the large Door Stops a White Wash Paint and then Distressed them with Sandpaper so some of the Natural wood colour came through. I then sealed the door stops with some bees wax.

And there you have it all prepared to serve your Christmas Lunch or 2 Handcrafted Gifts ready to wrap for Christmas or at the very least a project idea to go with one of the many featured Themes Found Here on TinselBox.

I do hope you have enjoyed my Guest Project Tutorial here on TinselBox as I have very much enjoyed sharing it and again would like to Thank Maria for having me visit. Good Luck with your DIY’s Best to you all.
